What is an Imagecolour print?

An ImageColour is photograph that has been transformed into a painting using a secret recipe of unique digital enhancements. This technique is particularly suitable to underwater and nature images, creating vivid colours and an appealing whimsical quality. For the purists…all Imagecolours are also available in their natural photo format…just ask!

What is a Giclée Print?

Giclée (zhee-klay) - The French word "giclée" is a feminine noun that means a spray or a spurt of liquid. Island Effect’s Giclée Reproductions are produced on archival museum quality, acid free canvas and fine art papers. We use Epson’s archival quality K3 pigment inks, which give long lasting vibrant colours, which are fade resistant for more than 75 years. The process employs eight colours and finer and more numerous print heads which actually mix the colour on the page to create true shades and hues. The colours are brighter, last longer, and are so high-resolution that they are virtually continuous tone, rather than tiny dots. The quality of the giclée print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in art galleries, photographic galleries and museums.
