Welcome To Island Effects!
After 2 decades of exotic travel and scuba diving in more than 20 countries, including nearly 8 years in Papua New Guinea, I've finally settling down in Australia and discovered that I shot quite a bit of film over 20 years and needed a canvas to display some of my favorite image creations.
Emerging from the dark ages of PNG, where we sent email using radio link telephone, I was excited to discover the advances in printing technology and quickly realized that I could print beautiful Giclee Prints of my images using the latest 8 color ink jet printers and archival inks, documented to last more than 100 years. This seemed perfect for my art and The Island Effects Gallery was born.
My IImageColour Giclee Print collection is the result of my foray into the digital world, a new level of creation where I discovered my images could magically be transformed to have a soft, ethereal painting quality. It's fun and I'm hooked. For the purists...all images are available in their original form.
The gallery is also offering the work of other artists for sale as well. Currently we are featuring a collection from Nathalie Le Riche, an incredibly talented artist, whose work was featured at my photo school/art gallery at Walindi Plantation Resort In Papua New Guinea. Her work was always a big hit with guests and I though she might find an audience here.
I'm hoping to expand the gallery to include many other artists, as well as carvings and crafts from Papua New Guinea, Africa and other exotic ports of call.
